The New Reticence

Aussie Dave Bigot, who has breathlessly reported every minor going on in Israel since the assault on Gaza, to the extent that he seems to have bored even his own readers, has gone all coy.

Why?

Well, if you haven’t heard, Ha’aretz has revealed that IDF members have stated that soldiers deliberately and in cold blood, shot Palestinian civilians during the Gaza assault.

Now for anyone who has even a touch of objectivity in their understanding of Israels 40 year occupation this is about as surprising as sunrise
However, it is causing a bit of a ruckus in Israel, where the IDF is the main religion after Judaism.

For an enthusiastic “live-blogger” like Aussie Dave Bigot it’s a real conundrum. A big breaking story, but it’s the wrong story. Way wrong. What to do?

Easy…….for someone so corrupted by their pro-Israel dogma that their brain has the moral fibre of a rotting jelly-fish – deny and dissemble.

First Dave carefully downplays the specific events describing them as “alleging IDF soldiers harmed palestinian civilians”. Then he studiously avoids directly linking to any of the testimony by IDF soldiers themselves, instead giving a link and a huge excerpt of a blanket denial by the head of the IDF, who quite hilariously says,

“I don't believe that IDF soldiers cold-bloodedly targeted Palestinian civilians”.

Why is it hilarious? Because his denial is in response to IDF soldiers who fought in Gaza who say that IDF soldiers did “target” Palestinian soldiers because they were there and saw it!

For example,

“I do know that my officer sent people to the roof in order to take her [old woman]out… ….It was cold-blooded murder.”

This was the “harm” that ADB vaguely alludes to. Well, I guess having your brains blown out by a sniper is harmful.

Lawrence of Cyberia gives an excellent account as usual. Check out the great t-shirts that the IDF like to wear. I especially like the one that shows a pregnant Palestinian woman with a target over her, and likewise the snipers T-shirt of a child, a sniper scope superimposed and the caption “The smaller…the harder”.


Update:

Where Dave gets on his moral high-horse.....backwards and proceeds to fall off. The t-shirts celebrating the murder of children and innocent civilians are,

"tasteless"

Hmmm, tasteless. I think we're meant to be in awe of Dave's fearless reproach.

tasteless: lacking in social or aesthetic taste.

So either Dave thinks that they have committed a social faux pas, or he doesn't like the design.

With predictable superficiality, it's the actual objects themselves he has a problem with, not the underlying values and culture they represent, which is of indiscriminate killing, dehumanisation and impunity.

It could hardly be less obvious,

"They also serve to tarnish the image of the IDF..."

Awful.

And worst of all, this will

"play into the hands of the pro palestinian propagandists who are constantly inventing lies about Israel."

No!

The Thoughts of a Bigot.

A Synagogue has been vandalised in Venezuela with anti-semitic graffiti scrawled on the walls.

Aussie Dave Bigot has no doubt that this is anti-semitic. And he is right.

As luck would have it, a neat little experiment has been dropped in our laps. A somewhat similar ( but far worse) incident occured in Hebron in early December last year. Jewish settlers rampaged through Hebron, shooting Palestinians, vandalising Mosques and in one case tried to burn down a house with a family inside.

What did Dave think when it was Israeli-Jews, not just vandalising Mosques and writing nasty things on their walls, but shooting Palestinians , vandalising their property and trying to burn them alive in their homes?

Dave found it all terribly "frustrating".

Worse still, those awful anti-Israel media types were calling them "extremists", which Dave thought was "slander". They weren't extremists, just "foolish", opined Dave.

This is why I haven't the slightest hesitation in labelling him a raving rabid bigot.

Kill Thy Neighbour II

Nothing brightens Aussie Dave Bigot's day like the sight of blood- Palestinian blood that is, and never mind the cost.

A senior Hamas figure was murdered yesterday. Yes, murdered. This man was a Hamas political figure, not an armed fighter or a member of the Hamas military wing,

"In a joint IDF and ISA operation in Gaza City early Thursday evening, the IAF targeted a building in which the following senior Hamas operatives were residing "

Dave seems to love the word "operative". I'm not really sure what it's supposed to mean.

The Israeli airforce dropped a bomb on his brothers home. He was killed along with his brother and son......oh, and four neighbours.

Aussie Dave Bigot doesn't mention this.

Why would he, they were just Palestinians. Heck, they probably voted for Hamas, which would mean that they deserved it.


In other insignificant developments, missed by Aussie Dave Bigot while he prays to his diety, the IDF, a tank shell killed two children in Beit Lahiya.

What Civilian Casualties?

Aussie Dave Bigots cheerleading for the invasion of Gaza continues unabated.

He details every injured IDF soldier, every rocket fired, every case of fright amongst Israeli civilians. But he's not without deep concern for the mass of suffering in Gaza.

Israel, on the other hand, is bending over backwards not to kill civilians.

Of course. And they must be quite successful, because reading through the last 2 days of his blog you'll find virtually no mention of Palestinian casualties. Virtually none. There was the UN driver 'allegedly' killed by Israeli fire, but Dave tells us it was probably Hamas.
And,

Palestinian officials report that 2 Hamas terrorists and an infant have been killed in IAF strikes on Gaza.

One infant. Wow, must be due to all that back-bending.

Though I'm a bit confused. In the media I've read stories (like this and this) about a family of seven being killed and a mother and her two year old son, amongst others, to bring the total of children killed by Israel in Gaza to over 250.

I think I'll have to get my news from where ever it is Dave does - it seems much more pleasant.

He also appears to have some issues with Jimmy Carter,

I supposed if I went up to Carter and punched him in his teeth, that would be defensive too.

And commenter's at his blog of hate continue to do Aussie Dave Bigot proud,

"with any luck, by then, Israel will have made glass factories out of damascuss,
tehran and any other raghead factories that deserve it .. "

Palestinian Children = "terror-related targets"

Aussie Dave Bigot gushes today

From our side, the IAF has continued to strike terror-related targets......

But he doesn't provide any details on the outcomes.

Could this be the reason why?

At least eight people, among them five children, have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on Friday. In all, the IAF reportedly hit 35 Hamas targets throughout the day Friday.

And we know from yesterday that our hate-filled bigot thinks that the children of Hamas figures are not civilians, ie. they are legitimate targets.

It appears that Aussie Dave Bigot has managed to come up a lovely euphamism for the murder of chldren - they are "terror-related targets".

Kill Thy Neighbour.......Suffer the Little Children

Aussie Dave Bigot continues to gush with joy at the killing of hundreds of Palestinians. Well, he's not gushing since the first gushing post. Maybe someone suggested it didn't strike a PR-friendly enough note. Now we have the platitudenous caveats - 'of course, I don't condone the killing of innocent civilians'..... etc etc.

However, he just can't help himself and, despite the caveats, continually makes excuses for killing civilians, and says things like this,

We also struck the house next to Gaza Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s home in a refugee camp next to Gaza City. Needless to say, Haniyeh was not there

I'm sure Haniyeh wasn't at his neighbours house, but was his neighbour? Doubtless, Aussie Dave Bigot never spent a mili-second pondering this question, he was too busy cheering on the next killings.

And following Israeli MFA talking-points, Aussie Dave Bigot is going to lengths to talk down civilian deaths at the hands of the IDF. On a UNRWA announcement that almost 20% of the dead are civilians, Aussie Dave makes the wonderful point that this,

does not take into account civilians who aided Hamas.

Anyone who "aided" Hamas (when, what does it mean??) has signed their death warrant according to Aussie Dave Bigot.

But he manages to sink even lower as seeks new excuses for killing Palestinians. Like today. A senior Hamas figure, Nizar Rayyan, was killed in a bombing - at his home! Apparently, 3 of his children were also killed. So what does our despicable scum-bag have to say about the killing of children?

That's right, our mad little friend is now suggesting that the children of Hamas members are legitimate targets.

Are there words for this?

Kill Kill Kill!

Aussie Dave Bigot is on Cloud Nine today.

Israel has bombed Gaza killing around 220 Palestinians.

And we know the rule – all dead Palestinians are terrorists.

Like the dozen trainee Traffic Police who were killed in a bombing of a Police Station. They were terrorists according to the twisted logic of our scumbag friend. How so? Well, they work for Hamas, Hamas = terrorist, so traffic police = terrorist. It’s all so easy!

It’s all totally justified of course – Hamas keep firing rockets over the border, just as they said they would do if Israel didn’t stop the collective punishment of 1.5 million civilians in Gaza. Not that the rockets have killed, or even inured anyone in a while…..until today that is, when the Israeli attack prompted another rocket barrage from Gaza killing an Israeli man in Nedivot. That may cause a sane person pause to think, but not our Aussie Dave Bigot who urges "May God avenge his blood". That would almost be funny if it wasn't a reflection of how someone actually thinks. I can again only thank god that such a bloodthirsty raving bigot no longer lives here in Australia.
